The scope of work for this project is the provision of construction activities for the basin cleanup at Flatrock, NL, as is more specifically described below and in the Drawings and Specifications, subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract. In general, the work under this contract consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following: .1 Dredging the existing basin down to -2.0m L.N.T. Note that large boulders and armour stone units are present in the dredge area and these boulders/armour units are to be removed. The boulders/armour units to be removed, may be as large as 15 tonnes in size. No dredging will be permitted from atop the existing wharf infrastructure. .2 Excavation and removal of all rock (less than 8 tonnes in size) from behind the existing seawall, down to the elevations shown on the drawings. All rock removed from behind the seawall is to be disposed of in the disposal area shown on the drawings. FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense and schedule, to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials necessary for the completion of the works, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply. Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 – Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid. The Contractor must perform and complete the Work by eight (8) weeks completion.

L’étendue des travaux dans le cadre de ce projet concerne l’exécution des tâches de construction nécessaires au nettoyage du bassin à Flatrock (T.-N.-L.), comme cela est décrit de manière plus précise ci-dessous ainsi que dans les dessins et le devis, dans le respect de toutes les conditions du contrat. En général, les travaux à effectuer aux termes du présent contrat comprennent ce qui suit, sans toutefois s’y limiter : .1 Dragage du bassin existant jusqu’à une profondeur de 2,0 m sous le niveau de la marée normale la plus basse. Veuillez noter que de gros rochers et des unités de pierre de carapace sont présents dans la zone de dragage et que ces rochers et unités de carapace doivent être retirés. Les rochers et unités de carapace devant être retirés peuvent peser jusqu’à 15 tonnes. Aucun dragage ne sera autorisé à partir de l’infrastructure du quai existant. .2 Excavation et enlèvement de toutes les roches (moins de 8 tonnes) derrière l’ouvrage longitudinal existant, jusqu’aux élévations indiquées sur les dessins. Toutes les roches retirées de derrière l’ouvrage longitudinal doivent être éliminées dans la zone d’élimination indiquée sur les dessins. FAMILIARISATION AVEC LE SITE Avant de soumissionner, on recommande aux entrepreneurs de visiter le site et les alentours, à leurs propres frais et au moment qui leur convient, afin d’examiner et de vérifier la forme, la nature et l’étendue des travaux, de décider des matériaux requis et des moyens d’accès au site, et d’examiner et de vérifier la gravité et l’incertitude des conditions météorologiques et l’exposition à ces conditions, les conditions du sol, et toute installation qui leur sera nécessaire. Les entrepreneurs doivent, de manière générale, obtenir tous les renseignements requis quant aux risques, aux éventualités et aux autres circonstances qui pourraient avoir une incidence sur leur soumission. Aucune indemnité ne sera prévue par la suite en raison d’une erreur ou de la négligence relativement à l’observation et à la détermination appropriées des conditions applicables. Avant de visiter le site, les entrepreneurs, les soumissionnaires ou leurs invités doivent examiner la section 01 35 29 – Exigences en matière de santé et de sécurité. Ils doivent prendre les mesures de sécurité nécessaires pour les visites des lieux, avant ou après l’acceptation des soumissions. L’entrepreneur doit réaliser et achever les travaux au plus tard le huit (8) semaines.
