- Through this 41-month project, NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC) will increase its ability to prevent and address gender-based violence (GBV) against Indigenous women, girls, or 2SLGBTQQIA+ people in rural communities in Labrador with a focus on increasing health and wellness opportunities. This will be achieved by engaging the communities, creating a gender diverse advisory team and by developing and implementing a strategy to advance community wellness and holistic well-being. The project will reinforce NCC's ability to identify and participate in relevant legislation, policy, and programs that impact opportunities to reduce victimization amongst its population. By the end of the project, NCC will have strengthened their capacity to prevent and address GBV against Indigenous women, girls and 2SLGTBQQIA+ people, with a strong focus on community health and wellness.

- Dans le cadre de ce projet de 41 mois, le NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC) renforcera sa capacité à prévenir et à contrer la violence fondée sur le sexe (VFS) visant les femmes, les filles et les personnes 2ELGBTQQIA+ autochtones dans les collectivités rurales du Labrador en mettant l’accent sur l’augmentation des possibilités relatives à la santé et au bien-être. Pour ce faire, il mobilisera les communautés, créera une équipe consultative diversifiée et élaborera et mettra en œuvre une stratégie visant à promouvoir le bien-être communautaire et holistique. Le projet renforcera la capacité du NCC à cibler les lois, politiques et programmes pertinents qui ont une incidence sur les possibilités de réduire la victimisation et à y intégrer sa participation. D’ici la fin du projet, le NCC aura renforcé sa capacité de prévenir et de contrer la VFS visant les femmes, les filles et les personnes 2ELGTBQQIA+ autochtones en mettant l’accent sur la santé et le bien-être des collectivités.
