Due to COVID-related school bus seating capacity reductions, not all eligible students were going to have a seat on a bus for 2020-21 school year. On Aug 26th 2020 the Minister of Education & Early Childhood Development directed the District to implement additional service in order to provide service to all eligible students. This required a significant amount of extra contracted school buses ASAP. Not enough school buses in province to provide necessary level of service, so District had to immediately commit to contracts that involved contractors having to source and finance school buses from outside the province. All additional services required were contracted with contractors who were already providing the service to the District.
