- This project will explore a new concept into acoustic imaging of the build-up of hydrates in deep, extended subsea production and drilling flowlines. The project will study the application of acoustics to better understand what creates undesirable flow restrictions that lower performance and create operational risks. In addition, the influence on multi-spectral acoustics from density variances related to the hydrocarbon flow and internal build-up will be studied and used to capture changes along the length of the flowline.

- Ce projet explorera un nouveau concept d'imagerie acoustique de l'accumulation d'hydrates dans les lignes de production et de forage sous-marines profondes et étendues. Le projet étudiera l'application de l'acoustique pour mieux comprendre ce qui crée des restrictions d'écoulement indésirables qui diminuent le rendement et créent des risques opérationnels. En outre, l'influence sur l'acoustique multispectrale des variations de densité liées au flux d'hydrocarbures et à l'accumulation interne sera étudiée et utilisée pour saisir les changements sur la longueur de la conduite d'écoulement.
