- Oceans Ltd is currently developing an Iceberg profiling system to collect data using a submersible remote sonar unit connected to a topside or “deck” control unit using a power/communications cable. Both the remote and topside units are controlled by small, ”Raspberry Pi” Single Board Computers. The collected data is later processed on a Windows based PC using the Iceberg Profiling Software, to produce 3D models of the profiled icebergs. In this project, the objective is to port the system software of the Topside or “Deck” unit to an updated hardware platform consisting of a ruggedized Windows PC. This will improve the performance of the system and allow further enhancements to the data collection system.

- Oceans Ltd développe actuellement un système de profilage des icebergs qui permet de collecter des données à l’aide d’un sonar submersible à distance relié à une unité de contrôle en surface ou «sur le pont» par un câble d’alimentation et de communication. Les unités à distance et en surface sont contrôlées par de petits ordinateurs monocartes «Raspberry Pi». Les données collectées sont ensuite traitées sur un PC Windows à l’aide du logiciel de profilage des icebergs, afin de produire des modèles 3D des icebergs profilés. Dans ce projet, l’objectif est de porter le logiciel système de l’unité «Topside» ou «Deck» sur une plateforme matérielle mise à jour consistant en un PC Windows renforcé. Cela permettra d’améliorer les performances du système et de perfectionner le système de collecte de données.
