    The scope of work for this project consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for wharf repairs in Forteau, NL in strict accordance with specifications and accompanying drawings and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.In general, the work under this contract will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:.1 Demolition and removal of fenders, ladders, wheelguard, coping, wheelguard blocking, as specifically shown on the drawings. Note that any creosote timber and other demolition debris removed as part of the demolition work will have to be disposed of at a Provincially approved waste disposal facility..2 Supply and installation of structural timber for coping, wheelguard, wheelguard blocking, fenders, ladders, wales/vertical wale supports (at span location as noted on the drawings), chase for electrical conduit and associated hardware, where repairs are required as noted on the drawings.Familiarization with the siteBefore submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure, and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies, and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 – Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.

    La portée des travaux de ce projet consiste à fournir l’ensemble des installations, de la main-d’œuvre, des matériaux et de l’équipement nécessaires aux réparations du quai, à Forteau (T.-N.-L.). Ces travaux doivent être exécutés conformément aux plans et devis à l’appui et seront assujettis aux modalités du contrat.En général, les travaux à effectuer aux termes du présent contrat comprennent ce qui suit, sans toutefois s’y limiter :.1 Démolition et retrait des défenses, des échelles, des garde-roues, du mur de couronnement et des cales de garde-roue, comme indiqué sur les dessins. Veuillez noter que tout bois traité à la créosote et autres débris de démolition retirés pendant les travaux de démolition devront être éliminés dans une installation d’élimination des déchets approuvée par la province;.2 Fourniture et installation de bois de charpente pour le couronnement, les garde-roues, les cales de garde-roues, les défenses, les échelles, les raidisseurs, les supports de raidisseur verticaux (à l’emplacement de la travée comme indiqué sur les dessins), le cheminement pour le conduit électrique et le matériel connexe, là où des réparations sont requises, comme indiqué sur les dessins.Familiarisation avec le siteAvant de présenter une proposition, les soumissionnaires sont invités à visiter, à leurs frais, les installations et leurs environs pour examiner et vérifier le type, la nature et l’étendue des travaux, les matériaux requis pour exécuter les travaux, les moyens d’accès aux lieux, la gravité, l’exposition et l’incertitude des conditions météorologiques, les conditions du sol et tout aménagement nécessaire. Ils doivent également obtenir tous les renseignements nécessaires en ce qui concerne les risques, les éventualités et autres circonstances pouvant influer sur leur soumission. Aucune indemnité ne sera accordée par la suite en raison d’une erreur ou d’une négligence d’observation ou de détermination correcte des conditions qui s’appliquent.Les entrepreneurs, les soumissionnaires ou ceux qui sont invités sur le site doivent examiner la section 01 35 29 du devis – Exigences en matière de santé et sécurité avant de visiter les lieux.
