- • Incorporating sex and gender into health research makes for better science that is more rigorous and more applicable to the needs of everybody. The Institute of Gender and Health (IGH) will provide bridge funding for applications that are relevant to its mandate: o CIHR-IGH mandate is to foster research excellence regarding the influence of sex and gender on health and to apply these findings to identify and address pressing health challenges facing men, women, girls, boys and gender-diverse people. • These one (1) year operating grants afford Principal Investigators an opportunity to resubmit their research proposal without the loss of momentum, staff, or trainees

- • La prise en compte du sexe et du genre dans la recherche en santé contribue à sa qualité et à sa rigueur, en plus de favoriser une plus grande applicabilité de ses résultats. L’Institut de la santé des femmes et des hommes (ISFH) des IRSC offrira du financement transitoire pour des demandes jugées pertinentes par rapport à son mandat : o L’ISFH des IRSC a pour mission d’encourager l’excellence dans la recherche sur l’influence du genre et du sexe biologique sur la santé et d’appliquer les résultats de cette recherche pour cerner et relever les défis urgents en matière de santé auxquels font face les hommes, les femmes, les filles, les garçons et les personnes de diverses identités de genre. • Ces subventions de fonctionnement d’un (1) an permettront aux chercheurs principaux de présenter à nouveau leur proposition de recherche sans devoir suspendre leurs activités ni perdre leur personnel ou leurs stagiaires.
